Ban Blemishes

Blemishes are never fun, especially right before an important event. 2-3 weeks before, get started on a skin care regimen that reduces and prevents breakouts. Look for formulas that contain glycolic and salicylic acid. Glycolic acid is the holy-grail when it comes to exfoliation. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid that’s great at attacking pimples and reducing inflammation. Choose either a cleanser or toner to remove daily grime and pore-clogging oil. If you opt for a toner, simply wash your face and apply toner to a cotton round, sweep onto skin and allow to dry. Follow with your favorite moisturizer. Here are some great options to help keep your skin clear and fresh:

Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser

Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Treatment Cleanser

Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner

CeraVE Renewing Gentle SA Face Cleanser

Build a gradual glow

Sun-kissed skin looks great in any dress, but we all know tanning isn’t good for skin health. To keep your skin glowing and healthy, choose a self-tanner that gradually builds over time. There are many options that also double as a moisturizer!

L’Oréal Sublime Bronze Hydrating Self-Tanning Milk

St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist

Don't forget the hair!

Hair goes through a lot of heat styling on prom day! To make sure it looks its best, start using a nourishing hair mask two weeks before the big day. We recommend using it two times a week to infuse tresses with protective moisture. You don’t have to break the bank to keep your hair in tip-top shape; here are some great options under $20!

You don't want to wait until the day of the dance to realize your makeup look doesn't quite mesh with your dress. Try out different looks a couple of weeks before the big day. Consider investing in an eyeshadow palette so you can experiment with a few different looks! We like the following palettes because they incorporate beautiful neutrals with fun pops of color!
