Summer to Fall Skincare Routine

Now that summer is on its way out, it's time to think about transitioning your skincare routine. Months of sun exposure can leave us with sunspots and uneven skin tone, so it's important to treat past damage while protecting your skin for cooler temps. Besides the cooler weather, fall brings a drop in humidity which equals drier air and even drier skin!

Here's how to combat summer damage and the dryness fall weather can bring:

  1. Cleanse-make sure you're diligent when it comes to taking off makeup and other products each night. Washing away impurities by sloughing off surface debris gives you a fresh face!
  2. Get out the masks-indulging in a quality mask at least once a week is not only relaxing, but vital when working towards removing discoloration brought on by the summer sun.
  3. Tone- energize your complexion with your favorite toner to hydrate and promote elasticity.
  4. Protect-don't forget to continue sunscreen use each day. Even though the summer months are over, it's still just as important to protect your skin from the sun's rays year-round.
  5. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize-give your skin the hydration it needs with a thicker moisturizer. Moisturizing shouldn't end with your face, add some body lotion to the mix! When summer humidity ends, your skin may start to feel dry and itchy (you can thank the lack of moisture in the air).
  6. Rethink your bedding-even the highest thread count can cause friction on your skin (and hair!). Consider switching to silk pillowcases which can help keep your skin healthy and smooth while reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Fall brings its own set of skin concerns after the summer months, be staying diligent and protecting your skin you can keep it looking fresh and healthy all year long!
